Butterfield Elementary

If you’re moving to Butterfield from another school, you should have already filled out withdrawal forms at your child’s previous school. When you come to the front office at Butterfield, we will give you paperwork to complete. You will also need your child’s birth certificate, immunization record, and two proofs of residency. |

Kindergarten registration usually begins in mid-March each year. Call the front office at 579-5000 for the exact date. A kindergartener must be five years old prior to September 1 to register. |

Parents are requested to keep their child home from school if he/she has an elevated temperature, nausea, or vomiting. In accordance with Pima County Health Department and district procedures, the student may return to school when they have been fever, nausea, and/or diarrhea free for 24 hours. |

|
Teachers will prepare a complete package of “make-up” work for students who have been absent for three (3) days or longer. Please call the office as early in the morning as possible, but no later than 10:00 AM to request the work. Please plan to pick up the homework after 3:30 PM, allowing teachers time to get all the necessary paperwork and books to the front office. Arrangements can also be made to have assignments carried home with a neighbor child. |

We request that all changes be made by 2:00 pm (1:00 on Tuesdays). If you wait until after this time, it becomes difficult to get the message to your child, as dismissal is a busy time of the day. As soon as you are aware that a change in your child’s departure routine needs to be made, please inform the front office by calling 579-5000. |

Custodial parents and/or legal guardians may pick up their child prior to regular dismissal time. Advanced notice is appreciated. |

Giving advanced notice allows the teacher to prepare accordingly for the extra help. All school visitors must register in the front office. Contact your child's teacher to see what kind of help might be needed. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application on an annual basis and submit it to the principal for approval. A parent or guardian of a student in the district is not required to be fingerprinted. All other volunteers are required to be fingerprinted and have a background check completed prior to beginning volunteer work. All volunteers will need to sign in and out each time work is done and obtain a visitors badge from the office. |

1) Students must be at least sixteen years of age. 2) Students must be enrolled at Mountain View or Marana High School. 3) Students must make application through their home school counselor. 4) Once recommended by the home school counselor, new students and a parent must meet with the Director for an individual intake interview. An enrollment contract must be completed before acceptance into the program. Once students have been accepted, a personal educational plan as well as a student contract will be written and signed. Students will only be allowed to begin course work at MCAT or return to their home school at semester break. |

However, your child’s homework is posted on the parent/ student portals. This is the ideal way for you to check your child’s work/ grades 24 hours a day from any computer connected to the internet.
